Electricians Hastings Napier Hawkes Bay Harkness Electrical Ltd have been servicing this region with excellent services for well-nigh forty years. That’s an impressive stint! And Colin Harkness is particularly proud that the longevity of the company doesn’t lie on his shoulders alone. As in all proactive enterprise, team play is what equals achievement – and Harkness Electrical have teamwork down pat.

The shape of the Harkness team looks fairly familial. There are Colin, wife Jan, two sons, and two sons-in-law, and all contribute to the Harkness values of cooperation, performance, and work ethic.
That ethic gets honed early in the Harkness practice. Colin supports the national apprentice scheme, enabling the development of newbies within the trade. Learning the ropes under the experienced mantle of Colin and his team guarantees that the next wave of electricians will be highly skilled and future-focussed.

Colin was once an apprentice himself. His excellent training with a local Hawke’s Bay firm as a youngster led him through the industry ranks until 1991 when he decided to go into business for himself.

Outside of the business, Colin loves his extensive family, church time, and weekends, when you’ll likely see him on his pushbike or at the local café relaxing with a coffee.
